David Seymour, the founder of Seymour Engineering began his illustrious career as a humble assistant of a boilermaker. The second generation family-owned and operated company began with each family member learning first hand from their older brother before them. David learned from his older brother Frank Seymour, a well-known pillar in the quarry industry. He then later founded Seymour Engineering in 1984 after having completed his trade qualification.
Stacy Seymour, his oldest son, is a qualified boilermaker and welder with onsite and overseas experience gained from the expansion of the company into countries.
Through the years, Seymour Engineering became a successfully operated business. Significant milestone projects of Seymour Engineering include the fabrication work of the 4th Expansion of the QAL project in Gladstone, Queensland in the late 1980’s, fabrication work for the asphalt plant for the Brisbane City Council at Eagle Farm and Queensland in conjunction with Paving Plant Processes in the 1990’s.
In 2006, Seymour Engineering undertook work for Karreman Quarries, which involved 75% of the fabrication work and 100% of the erection work for the Mt. Cotton Crusher Plant in Queensland. This plant at Mt. Cotton had a 1000 tonne per hour super pug mill and a 1500 tonne per hour crusher plant. The Karreman’s awarded 100% of the erection work and 75% of the fabrication work of their 2nd quarry located in Harlin, Queensland, to Seymour Group, further strengthening the partnership.
